As SmartShape's Director of Biomedical Research and Market Analysis, Fehmida is focused on assisting clients with strategic marketing and product development. She has a unique background in scientific research and business and understands the ins and outs of taking products to market. She is passionate about helping clients develop patient-centric solutions. Fehmida's experience with early stage, startups and mid-stage companies provides clients with expertise in regulatory guidance, scientific research
and validation and product positioning strategy.

Fehmida has been in the healthcare industry for more than 10 years, with specific experience in taking biomedical products from idea to commercialization. She has worked with biomedical companies to manage product development planning, business development, market research, competitive intelligence, and customer-centric marketing strategy for product launch. She has extensive expertise in market segment selection, dilutive/non-dilutive funding, regulatory guidance, laboratory validation,
commercial prototype development, business strategy, go-to market strategy, primary and secondary market research, competitor analysis, experimentation, data analysis and published research.

Throughout her career, Fehmida has had the opportunity to work with several well-renowned companies and institutions including Case Western Reserve University, University of Akron Research Foundation, IMS Consulting, Carnegie Mellon University, Cleveland Clinic and Cipla Ltd among others.   

Fehmida received her PhD in Biochemistry from The Ohio State University and MS in Technology Entrepreneurship from Case Western Reserve University. She is the founder of KapaMed Consulting, a strategic marketing and product management consulting firm. She has united with SmartShape to help provide clients with an additional layer of biomedical marketing and product development expertise. She is also an Adjunct Faculty at Case Western Reserve University where she teaches Entrepreneurship and Project Management.

Outside of work, Fehmida is an avid hiker, traveler and photographer who believes in collecting experiences.
