Electrical Engineer & Connected Device Specialist

Courtney is an electrical engineer by training and an entrepreneur by nature. After leaving her job as a power systems engineer at NASA to work for her own startup company, she discovered a passion for helping technology-focused companies meet their goals.

Courtney co-founded the Akron-based clean energy startup, Design Flux Technologies as an undergraduate student studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Akron. While serving as Chief Operations Officer Courtney was named a “Forbes 30 Under 30” in 2016. She has also been names to the “Top 40 Under 40” in Cleantech by Midwest Energy News and one of Crain’s “Twenty in their 20s”. She also received the ComEd Female Founder Prize for 2015 through the Clean Energy Challenge.

After spending 7 years with Design Flux Technologies, Courtney has fully-committed her career to helping companies reach their full potential by guiding product and business development activities. As an active member of the NEO startup community, Courtney’s expertise is in making connections and facilitating product research and design through relationship building. She has served as Executive Director for Launch League – a local nonprofit organization focused on helping startup companies reach success through a network of resources. She also consults for local Internet of Things product company, Embedded Planet, where she uses her experience in the connected device industry to help companies see an ROI on their investments in connected device infrastructure.

Beyond this, Courtney is an international speaker on topics of entrepreneurship, women in tech and technology at venues such as TED Budapest, the Pioneers Festival, the Young Professional Summit, and the IEEE WIE International Women’s Leadership Conference.
