3D Computer Aided Design

3D CAD (Computer-Aided-Design) allows us to develop complex designs rapidly and with excellent accuracy. Our design and engineering teams use the latest and best CAD software systems available, including deep expertise in PTC Pro/E and CREO, SolidWorks and programs.

Initial breadboard mockups, volume studies, conceptual mechanisms, or high fidelity looks-like models, we have the prototyping know-how to meet your development needs. Our in-house model shop allows us efficiently sculpt and construct mockups for ergonomic analysis, volume studies or explore conceptual mechanical configurations. Clients rave about our CNC prototypes. We have the capability to machine prototypes in a variety of materials including common plastics and metals necessary our clients to conduct structural analysis and even regulatory testing.

MoldFlow Analysis

Plastic injection molded parts undergo MoldFlow Analysis in order to optimize the part design as well as prevent defects in the plastic part before the actual mold is created.MoldFlow Analysis also helps the engineers design a mold that has reduced cycle times, improved cost savings, and greater processing success.

Engineering Testing

The efficiency and safety of a product may be ensured through engineering testing.We execute anything from basic product testing and evaluation to structured medical test plans for verification and validation testing. Through testing, product concerns are addressed early in the design which establishes quality and affects the product’s overall success.

Electromechanical Design

SmartShape specializes in the development of Class I, II, and III medical devices.Our experienced team implements the execution of Design Controls FMEA and Risk Assessments, as well as upholds medical regulatory compliances. 3D Animations

Animations make the product come to life in a whole new way. Animations are created for a variety of reasons, such as to showcase your product, to gain insights on the physical reality, or to illustrate a concept design to others. Our team uses KeyShot, SolidWorks, and PTC’s Creo to create these animated videos.

Mold Design

Injection mold tooling design is another area of our expertise. Our engineers at SmartShape’s partner firm, SmartMerit, specialize in molding and injection mold tooling. SmartShape works closely with SmartMerit to create production-ready tooling that is high quality and cost-effective. This allows for a seamless experience in obtaining a market-ready product.
